A dog park for Brody

Brian decided he was going to the last baseball game today at UNCW and I figured I would take Brody to the off-leash dog park. I didn't think there would be anyone there, but there were several people and their little dogs. They have the park split up, one side for the little dogs and the other for the larger dogs. When Brody entered the fenced in area, several dogs came to him for a greeting. The poor little thing was terrified. He had his little tail tucked in and his ears were down. He was not use to an encounter with so many little dogs all at once. Brody loosened up just a little, but mainly kept to himself. We stayed there for about 30 minutes and I figured I would bring him home. I think it will a few more times going there before he will get use to it all. I'm just happy they have something like that were he can run free without his leash.

oh, no it didn't...

Yesterday, my trainer and I were sitting outside at Oceanic at the beach having lunch. There were sea gulls flying around and I told her that I had always been afraid that a bird would poop on me. She told me that she was scared that would happen to her as well. Well, Brian came to the restaurant later on and he sat down and got him something to drink. We were sitting there talking away and Brian looked down on his shirt and a bird pooped on him. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. I had to go and get him a wet rage and some club soda so it wouldn't stain his shirt. They say if you get pooped on, it should bring you good luck...we'll see if that's true. Here's the pic I took for proof...hysterical.

Goodbye my love

Tomorrow, Brody will have to leave his first girlfriend, Bella. They have been a couple for a little over a month and now he'll be leaving her forever. I know he will be sad. I'm sure Bella will be even more sad since she will still be here and Brody will be gone. I know he will find a new love in Wilmington. He's such a good looking little boy, so it won't be hard to keep the lady's away from him.

Packing Complete....excluding 1 box.

After 5 days of packing, I have finally finished...hallelujah! Well, I do have one more box for a few bowls and glasses that I have left out, but that will be completed Friday morning. We are leaving Friday for Brian's parents for the weekend, then Sunday we're off to Wilmington. I start my new job Monday.
I had an hour long phone orientation this morning and another 30 min one-on-one orientation on Friday. We covered pricing, our questions that we had to answer and our distribution centers. Friday, I will have to say my sales presentation and I will be critiqued. We will also discuss the two towns that I will be traveling to next week. I'm really looking forward to this job, I think everything is going to work out.
Brian will be looking for a house to rent next week and I just pray that he will find something. I told I'll be happy as long as it has a fenced in back yard for Brody. It will be nice not having to stand outside with him while he goes potties or worry about him running out into the road. I'm so afraid that he'll get hit by a car. Brody loves to chase squirrels and birds, and at his new home he can catch (at least attempt) a little critter. I'll get back to you next week to let you know how everything been going. Hopefully, I'll have wonderful things to say.

All in a days work...okay, maybe two...

Sunday morning I began packing up the apartment. I started around 10 am after watching church on television....I needed to listen to the gospel before my long day of work. First attempt, the kitchen. I wasn't planning on cooking any this week and I knew it would take the most time packing, I figured...what the heck. I started throwing away food I didn't want to carry with us and spices that had expired. After a several hours, I packed 5 boxes with a few more items still left out ...the majority is done though. Only things left are a few bowls and glasses. I need something to use for my daily cereal intake and diet coke consumption.

Next, the guest bathroom. That bathroom needed some TLC. We bathe Brody in that shower instead of using our shower. I bought some Kaboom...I LOVE IT! It took the soap scum right off without having to scrub with a Bristol brush. I think the bathroom is the cleanest its ever been. The new tenants won't have to worry about cleaning that bathroom. You could eat off the toilet...that's how clean it is. I know your suppose to say "It's so clean, you could eat food off the floor" but I haven't' moped the floor yet.

Okay, moving on to the outside of the washer and dryer. Now, that was disgusting. Dust and lent covered all over. It's so clean now...they look brand new :) After that, I took a little break to eat some lunch. By the way, Brian hadn't helped any at this point. He didn't get out of bed until 11:30 am. What am I going to do with that boy??

Later on in the afternoon, I started in the living room. That wasn't so bad. I had a few vases, picture frames and a few other home decor. After the living room, I was done for the day.

Today, I started around 8:30 am. I bagged the clothes that we donated to Goodwill. We had 4 large bundles and a box with some wall pictures, drinking glasses, pizza pan, comforter, sheets and drapes. I'm glad we aren't carrying unnecessary things that will just be in our way. I'm trying not to be so much of a pack-rat.
I finished the living room, both bedrooms and boxed my winter items. I'm glad we finished the majority of the packing because I know Brian wouldn't pack everything properly. He would have just thrown everything in the boxes without bubble wrapping....you know men. Anyway, I'm sick of moving...it's NO FUN!

Just Because...

Since Brody has been a very good boy, I decided it was time for some new toys to come into his life. Brian and I were having dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and I told him that we need to see what they had to choose from at K-Mart. He went earlier this week at Wal-Mart and Brody already had all of their toys. We walked into K-Mart and finally found their pet section and they had several cute toys to choose from. So, which toys did we choose?? A long wennie dog and a hippo with rope attached to him. When we got home, we each had a toy to see which one Brody would choose. He played with the hippo for a minute because that was the one I gave him, but he's attached to the wennie dog. He hasn't let go of him yet...WAIT, he has the hippo now...YEAH! I knew he would like that one too. I'm so happy :)

My New Addiction...Jelly Belly Beans

This past year, I had been selling promotional products for a company based out of Miami, FL and different vendors would send me samples of their products. Well, one company sent me a box of small packages of Jelly Belly's. Well, I'm no longer working for the company and I get to keep the samples of everything they have sent me. I have loads of Jelly Belly's at home and I've been bringing them to work with me everyday for my little snack. I know, your thinking "What kind of snack is that?" You never know what flavor you are getting with a Jelly Belly...it's a suprise in every bite. You could have a strawberry flavor, popcorn flavor, root beer flavor and the list goes on. They actually have 50 different types of Jelly Belly's! That's right ladies and gentlemen, 50! Some are ReAlLy good and some are just plain NaStY. I don't know what they were thinking while creating some of these flavors. For example: licorice, cafe latte (who would want to eat anything that tastes like coffee?), cappuccino (another coffee flavor), coconut, chocolate pudding?, jalapeno (your CrAzY if you like this one), peanut butter?? and there's some yellow one that is just NaStY...blah. Anyway, I thought I would share this with you and a list of the different flavors :)

I am so dreading the whole cleaning thing. I'll be doing the whole hands and knees cleaning like Cinderella. I'm talking base boards, showers, toilets, floors, washer and dryer and who knows what else. Oh, tons of laundry. I hate moving...I've moved too many times...but at least I know we'll be moving to a wonderful place...at least that's what I have envisioned.

The World's Ugliest Dog Competition

Last night I was flipping through the channels during American Idol commercials and I came across Animal Planet. They were having the world's ugliest dog competition. It was so funny, but it was so pitiful. Some of these poor dogs had something wrong with them and some were just ugly, but to me they were still cute. You know the saying, "Their so ugly, their cute?" Well, that's what they were. In the competition they had Archie, Ellwood, Jake, Lucille Bald, Munchkin, Pee Wee and Tatortot. They had faces only a mother could love.

ARCHIE............. ELLWOOD.............. JAKE..............LUCILLE BALD

TATORTOT.......... PEE WEE............. MUNCHKIN

And the big winner of the competition....ARCHIE!!!

His poor tongue constantly hangs out...well a lot of them did. Poor Jake was missing an eye, Tatortot was hunchback and I don't know what was going on with Munchkin. In my eyes, they were all beautiful.

A Strange Awakening

Last night, Brody and I got into bed around 11 pm last night exhausted. Then around 12:20 am, I woke up feeling something wet around my head. I got up and turned the light on and Brody had gotten sick all over my pillow, shoulder and the mattress. Brody was sitting up on the pillow with the saddest looking little face with the expression of "I didn't mean to, I promise." Brian hadn't gotten into bed yet, so I went into the living room to let him know what happened. We had to strip the bed and put the sheets into the washing machine and scrub the mattress cover and pillow case because it had seeped through. We had to sleep in the guest bedroom and that bed feels so much smaller than our bed. They are both queen size, but the guest bedroom fells like a full size bed. So, needless to say I didn't get much sleep last night. Brody seems to be feeling better today which makes me happy. Hopefully, we won't have to go through this again tonight.

The town we'll be leaving

In a little over a week, Brian and I will be leaving Georgia. This is the first town that Brian and I lived in as husband and wife, but it's time to move on to bigger and better things. It' s a good town, but really not for us (I had the hardest time finding a job in marketing too). For us to do anything...whether it's shopping, night life or eating at a nice restaurant...we would have to drive an hour away to Savannah. Don't get me wrong, it has a few cute little shops in the downtown area and some okay places to eat, but not exactly for us.

I loved going to Savannah for a Saturday afternoon though. They have so many different little parks and the Spanish moss was everywhere. We were actually married in Savannah at a beautiful Methodist church that's located downtown.

I believe our move will be great for us. For one reason, I have a job aligned already which is GREAT and the town...or should I say city, I guess...is WONDERFUL. It has so much history, which I love. I love that it has a riverfront street that has a brick road and the shops are adorable. They have a pet boutique which is just precious. I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of shopping in there for Brody. I want to share a few pics from the town we will soon be calling home.

I don't think I've ever wanted to move so badly in my LIFE!!!

Shopping Extraviganza

Yesterday, I drove down to Savannah to do a little shopping. After finding out that I got my job, I decided I needed to update my work wardrobe...I need to dress to impress :) I did a little damage to my checking account...spending almost $515.00! Before I went to Savannah, I spent $80.00...$40.00 on gas (that's getting ridiculous and I drive an Accord) and $40.00 to have my wedding ring and engagement ring soutered (however you spell it) together. The rest of the money was spent on clothes.

When I got to Savannah, my first stop was Target. I had looked online the other day to see their clothing options and I found a cute sleeveless black dress. I thought, YES, this would be so cute for work. So, when I got to Target they didn't have the dress. I was so disappointed. I thought I could have a sophisticated dress, but I was wrong. I browsed through their clothes rack, I didn't see anything that jumped out at me saying 'Buy Me.' Only thing a bought was a tall White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks that was inside...so yummy. Next stop, Ann Taylor LOFT!

ATL has the greatest work clothes I think. I just love this store. Plus, the prices are pretty reasonable...they always have sales. While going through their racks, I found a cute pair of tailored black Bermuda type shorts...they hit between the knee and ankle...great length. So, I looked at the price tag and it was on sale for $34.99, I was pumped about that. The sales lady came to me and asked if she could start a dressing room for me and I was like heck yeah. I found this beautiful silk skirt with colors of yellow, cream and brown. They had a sweater type shirt to go with it that was buy one, get the second 1/2 off. The shirt was $44.00 and the second was $22.00. I also grabbed a pair of brown pants, $80.00, just to try them on. I took my pieces to the dressing room to start trying them on. After trying on the skirt and the sweater shirt, I fell in love. It looked so good. It was a must have! Next, the shorts...they were a winner. I knew they would look perfect with a pair of pumps. Then the pants. I loved the pants, but couldn't make myself pay $80.00. I told myself, if I didn't see anything else, that I would come back for them. I decided it was time to check out. When the cashier rang my shorts, they showed $24.00...I was pumped. I didn't say anything. The damage I did, $160.00. That wasn't that bad, two shirts, shorts and a skirt...the skirt was $60.00.

Next stop, the mall. First store to visit, The Limited. Only thing I found were two pair for Drew Fit pants. I got a black pair and tanish color pair. Grand total: $100.00. For buying two pair, I got $25.00 dollars off. I was pleased with that. After The Limited, I went to Victoria Secret. I needed new undergarments. You can't beat their 5 for $25.00. I love their panties...so comfy and cute. I went to almost all of the women stores and I couldn't find anything else...disappointing. So, I decided I would go back to Ann Taylor LOFT. I saw other pieces that I liked, but I wanted to check the mall first before spending a nice chunk of change in there.

When I went back into the store, I figured they would say "Your back." Luckily, they didn't. I didn't get the pants they I really liked because I still couldn't make myself pay that much. I did find a black and white wrap dress, a black shirt and a black and white skirt. The dress was $70.00, the shirt $30.00 and the skirt $35.00. They too cute. Grand total: $135.00. I was pleased with my purchases. I had to make myself leave before spending anymore money.
(They didn't have a picture of the skirt)

Overall, I had a great day. Now, all I have to do is go through my closet and get rid of my old clothes and make room for my new ones. You gotta love shopping!!!
